Three local schools — Sacred Heart, Woodside Priory, and Menlo School — joined forces with the Menlo Park Rotary Club (MPRC) to champion a mission of generosity and education. Together, they are supporting St. Anthony’s Padua Dining Room in its critical work of providing food to the community’s most under-served members.
This initiative, aptly named Donating for Dignity, is not a competition but a collaborative opportunity to teach students and staff about the pressing issue of food disparity and to actively contribute to meaningful change. Each school also worked on their campus to raise awareness about local food insecurity.
On November 16th, teams of students and staff from all three schools rolled up their sleeves and volunteered directly at St. Anthony’s Padua Dining Room. These hands-on experiences not only create lasting partnerships among the students but also provide a tangible sense of how their efforts positively impact the lives of others.
The Menlo Park Rotary Club served as the unofficial sponsor of this effort, supplementing the schools’ contributions by providing turkeys and financial donations to St. Anthony’s Padua Dining Room. In November the schools and the MPRC donated over 400 turkeys and hams, and 750 canned goods ensuring warm meals for hundreds of families during the holiday season and throughout the year.
